The Municipality of Mineralni Bani will be an implementing organization of the project "Promotion and development of tourism through the history of PATH", co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg-ITP programme for cross-border cooperation Bulgaria-Turkey 2014-2020.

The project partner will be the Kirklareli Special Provincial Administration, Turkey. The duration of the project is 24 months and its value is 421,584 euros. The contract for the subsidy was signed on February 26, 2020. Within the framework of the project, measures for rehabilitation and exposure of the Toplikos fortress will be implemented.

Activities are planned for improvement of the adjacent areas around the fortress, reconstruction and rehabilitation of the alley network in the park environment, increasing the accessibility to the site, including for disadvantaged people, providing park and artistic lighting of the archeological monument, creating places for recreation and establishing an area for organizing events, outdoor performances and temporary tourist attractions.

In addition, Toplikos Fortress will be exhibited using modern methods and tools aimed at maximally accessible presentation of the history of the village of Mineralni Bani over the centuries. Multimedia in a combination of sound, light, animation and a smoke show will present the development of the fortress in different ages.

This audiovisual show is a modern method of marketing and advertising the archeological site by recreating images, paintings and movements. The story comes to life in the village of Hamdibey.

The current activity is a continuation of the long-term work of the local administration for renovation of the cultural and historical infrastructure in the village of Hamdibey and its transformation into a tourist destination.

Activities are planned for renovation of ancient cobbled streets and construction of a panoramic platform, from which the residents and guests of the settlement can enjoy a beautiful view.

Development of a tourist guide and other information materials aimed at wide popularization and advertising of the local natural, cultural and historical resources and creation of an integrated high quality tourist product.

Organizing a seminar to promote tourism in the cross-border area, which aims to promote networking for sustainable tourism by reviewing the existing model of tourism management and recommending changes that will make the target region a competitive and attractive tourist destination.

To put an end to the project activities, the citizens and guests of the village of Mineralni Bani will be invited to take part in a final event to present the implemented activities and achieved results within the project.
